It sounds backwards, but Shopify's own policies make it so. That's why we lead with your photos and copy, and add trademark claims where they help.
On a valid DMCA notice Shopify generally removes the reported content, and repeat notices can close the store, and the owner's other stores.
If the merchant responds, Shopify generally lets them repost. Useful, but weaker on its own.
Shopify won't accept a general shop link. Every product page gets its own entry.
Shopify acts at the product level first, so we file every copied product, not just one.

Shopify can close a store but not the domain registered elsewhere, and a clone usually has a payment processor and ads behind it. We report each one: Stripe or PayPal stop processing, Meta and TikTok pull the ads, Google delists the pages selling fakes.

Scan my brand freeNo. A domain bought elsewhere stays with that registrar even after Shopify closes the store. Taking the domain itself means a UDRP or a court. Most brands just need the store gone, which is what Shopify can do.

Under the DMCA, Shopify can let them repost after 10–14 business days unless the rights owner files suit. Registering your key product photos ahead of time keeps that option open.
